The Independent has released its choice of the 9 best Proseccos for 2023, naming our Ca’ di Rajo Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Millesimato as the best luxury bottle.
As we head out of winter and into spring, we’re all looking for a chance to get together and celebrate with friends. The Independent’s recent rundown of the best Prosecco for your next soirée includes eye-catching supermarket bottles as well as vegan fizz. Despite the intense competition, Ca’ di Rajo took the crown as the most luxurious option.
Carefully selected by experts
The team at The Independent put a lot of effort into choosing the very best Prosecco for its list. Each bottle was chilled and judged on its aromas, bubbles and flavours. They were tested alongside nibbles, as well as alone. This allowed Ca’ di Rajo to really showcase its best qualities. It’s not this bottle’s first time before the judges, either. It’s also won a range of prestigious awards – including Bronze at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards, and Gold at Mundus Vini.
What makes Ca’ di Rajo Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Millesimato so special?
Discussing why a more expensive Prosecco is worth the splurge for celebrations, The Independent’s writer Siobhan Grogan says that “this single vintage DOCG prosecco from the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene is as good as any champagne and has the awards to prove it…” She goes on to say that the “flavours of lemon, fragrant jasmine and a tropical tang make this one of the most intriguing proseccos we tried.”
Ca’ di Rajo: a whole range of high-end prosecco to broaden your mind
But the Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Millesimato 2020 isn’t the only Ca’ di Rajo Prosecco impressing The Independent’s wine writers. Its inclusion in the list comes hot on the heels of Ca’ di Rajo “rosé brut” 2019 taking the title of best pink prosecco in the newspaper’s Valentine’s Day pink fizz round-up.
Another of Ca’ di Rajo’s luxury Proseccos got an honourable mention in the 9 Best Prosecco article, too, with Grogan saying “If it gives you a taste for the finer things in life, we also rate Ca’ di Rajo Cuvée del Fondatore Brut Millesimato Valdobbiadene prosecco superior DOCG 2020 for its pineapple zing.”
