“Since launching in 2020, Independent Wine have built a specialised portfolio featuring the UK’s record number of Decanter medal-winning wines from all over Italy.

As one might expect, they boast a selection of premium bottles from Italy’s most famous denominations, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Amarone della Valpolicella and Brunello di Montalcino, but they also offer a wide range of premium wines from lesser-known regions such as Lombardy’s Franciacorta, Alto Adige’s Lagrein, and Sardinia’s Cannonau and Vermentino.”

Wines of Piemonte

Discover juicy Barbera d’Alba that tastes like wild strawberry and spiced cherry, refreshing Arneis white wine from the hills of Roero and low-alcohol sparkling Moscato d’Asti.

Wines of Veneto

Veneto is Italy’s most productive wine-growing region that produces over 1 billion bottles of wine with protected designation of origin every year. Its Valpolicella wines – AmaroneRipassoRecioto and Valpolicella Superiore – are as different as they are legendary. We also stock elegant and fragrant whites from Lugana DOC, and of course Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco.

Wines of Alto Adige

Alto Adige is the Alpine region of Italy also known as South Tyrol. It’s home to the Europe’s highest vineyards. This is where you’ll find delightful cool-climate wines, including intensely aromatic RieslingGewürztraminer and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc). It also produces the best Italian Pinot Noir, as well as its own dark and crisp red wine: Lagrein.

Wines of Toscana

The rolling hills of Tuscany (Toscana) are home to vineyards producing rich wines with a bold, bright flavour. Famous Tuscan wines include Chianti ClassicoRosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino. The region is also renowned for its experimental Super Tuscan wines, which blend Sangiovese with international grapes like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wines of Umbria, Abruzzo and Puglia

Discover some of the most powerful red wines with firm tannins, deep colours and rich tastes of black fruits: Montefalco SagrantinoMontepulciano d’AbruzzoNegroamaro and UK-favourite Primitivo (also known as Zinfandel). But Umbria is also the birthplace of Italy’s legendary crisp and sharp white wine: Trebbiano Spoletino.

Wines of Sicilia and Sargedna
