Elegant and packed with citrus and tropical flavours, this Alte Reben wine was awarded with the prestigious Decanter Gold Medal in 2019 and Silver Medal in 2020. It is known in Alto Adige as Weißburgunder, and is made from 100% Pinot Bianco grapes. The wine comes from Girlan, located in the north end of Alto Adige’s Weinstrasse (wine road), closer to Bolzano.

Tasting notes

In the glass, this Alte Reben Weissburgunder wine has a pale gold colour. It’s a delightfully complex wine offering pronounced aromas of grapefruit, pear, guava and melon, with hints of ginger, a touch of sweet acacia honey and a subtle undertone of biscuit. A rich and a bit creamy body, with lots of flavour and a long and pleasant finish. Despite the deceiving sweetness, this wine is perfectly dry with only 1.7 g/l of residual sugar. Serve lightly chilled to 10-12 ° C.
