Veneto
Veneto is Italy’s most productive wine-growing region. The region is home to many international grape varieties such as Merlot, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, as well as Italian grapes like Glera, Raboso, Garganega and Corvina.
Because the warm days are cooled by breezes from Lake Garda to the west and winds from the Alps to the north, grapes grown here have the potential to develop into fresh and enjoyable wines. Veneto produces a wide range of wines, from high-volume and inexpensive to premium brands. It is the policy of our shop to only offer award-winning wines of outstanding quality.
The most famous wines of Veneto are Pinot Grigio and sparkling Prosecco. Pinot Grigio is a quintessentially fresh, dry and slightly aromatic white wine, which has a massive following in the UK. Prosecco is Italy’s most famous sparkling wine, from the Glera grape. The best Prosecco comes from the cru villages in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG area.
