Sharp and clean Prosecco Treviso Brut with flavours of jasmine, tropical fruits and a fresh peppermint undertone
This Ca’ di Rajo Prosecco Treviso has a light touch of sweetness, which accentuates its fruity and floral flavour. If you like your Prosecco dry, but not bone-dry, this is one to consider.
It comes from the village of Rai, near the small town of San Polo di Piave, on the Piave river 40 km north of Venice.
Winemaking
Grapes for this Prosecco are harvested by hand in the second and third weeks of September. This wine is produced using the tank method – also named after its inventors Martinotti (in Italy) and Charmat (in France).
The still wine is fermented in a stainless steel tank until the sugar is converted in alcohol, creating the persistent bubbles that are such a delight in the glass. This method is ideal for preserving the natural aromatic qualities of the Glera grape.
Find out more about this production method in out guide to Prosecco wine and how it’s made.
This wine has typical Prosecco “Brut” level of sweetness, with 9-11 g/l residual sugar.
Tasting notes
White flower purity with a delicate touch of sweetness – think honeysuckle and jasmine – followed by tropical flavours of pineapple, melon and peach on the palate, with a refreshing spearmint finish.
