This ten year-old vintage shows what Simone Nannetti is capable of
Decanter named Cava d’Onice as one of the best “Under the radar Brunello producers 2022“ – and this wine shows why.
After ten years of maturation, this vintage is starting to become truly impressive. It positively bursts with bright notes of pomegranate and red grapefruit, backed up by sharp tannins.
Cava d’Onice Brunelo shows notable potential for further ageing, and we believe this wine will reach new levels of complexity in years to come.
Tasting notes
With an attractive garnet hue in the glass, this Cava d’Onice Brunello is full of energy and taste.
Bright and juicy flavours of pomegranate, redcurrant and dried raspberry are followed by a bitter note of red grapefruit zest, underpinned by aromas of dry thyme, cedar and sweet raspberry jam. Tannins are refined. Thanks to the fresh red fruit flavours it feels very drinkable, though it is very powerful. Drink now or hold.
