Elegant Barbaresco with flavours of cranberry, blueberry, violets and cherry pie. Still young with grippy tannins
This award-winning Barbaresco offers elegant flavours of red fruits as well as powerful tannins. It spent two years ageing in oak, but all the nuanced aromas of Nebbiolo are still bright and fresh. 2016 was possibly the best year for Nebbiolo in Langhe in the last decade. This vintage by Paolo Demarie has received the Decanter Silver Medal, not to mention glowing reviews by top wine experts like James Suckling and Jancis Robinson.
Tasting notes
Medium garnet colour. Vivid aromas of cranberry, blueberry and violet flower, underpinned by notes of dark chocolate. Thanks to its development in oak and bottle, this Barbaresco offers tastes of sweet pastry and blueberry conserve. Lots of fresh acidity and visible tannins suggest that this wine will continue to develop and improve for years.
