A UK-exclusive, complex Pinot Noir wine from the Alpine vineyards of Alto Adige. Made by an award-winning Swiss-Italian winemaker
The best Pinot Noir wines are produced in cool climates, such as the Alpine region of Alto Adige. Here, although there is plenty of sun during the day to ripen the grapes, the cool nights preserve their delicate acidity and freshness. This wine was fermented in large second-use oak barrels (tonneaux), which lend a subtle aroma of cinnamon spice but do not overpower the elegant perfume of the Pinot Noir grape. The wine won a number of prestigious awards in Italy and abroad, and is a UK-exclusive.
Ruby colour of medium intensity. On the nose, the wine is complex, with pronounced aromas of black plum, black pepper, prune, red cherry, blackberry, and dried fruit. It has well-integrated notes of cinnamon, cloves and wet stone. On the palate, it’s dry, with soft tannins, high acidity and flavours of black fruits and spices, which balance the high level of alcohol. The wine benefits from a full body, an elegant texture and a long pleasant finish.

A deep red, dark and fruity, spicy pinot noir. Pure heaven!

We really liked this. Fruity, complex, not that heavy, and a hint of cinnamon as the description says. Not too much spice though, just enough to make it interesting.
