Smooth and deep Riserva wine and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, both produced by Orlandi Contucci Ponno – an award-winning winery in north Abruzzo
The Wine
This Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva offers very complex, deep and rounded flavours of Christmas pudding, cocoa and milk chocolate. Having aged for seven years, it’s well developed with silky and mellow tannins. That said, the wine has enough potential to continue its evolution: it still bursts with vibrant flavours of black cherry and blackberries supported by fresh acidity.
Awards

The Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The oil is made from Leccino, Frantoio and Dritta olives. They develop their characteristic flavourful taste thanks to the climate of the Teramo hills. The area is influenced by breezes from the Adriatic Sea, said to bring salty and mineral flavours. From the east, it’s affected by the cold winds from the Gran Sasso mountains – the highest part of the Apennines.
The price includes the wine and the oil.
